May Baby?

Well it looks like this baby might come early after all....? I had a doc. apt. today and he was getting concerned with the contractions again, so he decided to send me over the the ER to get some testing done...I can't remember the exact name of the testing but it is new and it used for determining (predicting) if you will go into labor in the next 7-14 days. Well I tested positive, which isn't a guarantee I will have the baby over the next two weeks, but I have a very high chance of it. So they gave me a Cortisone shot, and I have another one tomorrow. It is suppose to help the babies lungs develop faster in case she comes early. I have been put on a bed rest of sorts is what the doctor said...so we will see how that goes with Madilyn being as active as she is. Oh I will be 34 weeks on Sunday.

And another piece of news I received today. The Lacombe hospital does do epidurals, but the is a big BUT with that. He said that they have to have a lot of staff on hand and the anesthesiologist has to be there. So the chances of getting one during the day are slim but possible, and nights and weekends....just don't count on it. So it looks like I might being having a natural child birth after all haha!

Same old stuff!

The reason I haven't updated anything on the blog is because not a lot has happened. We did get to go to Fairmont British Columbia last week, which was awesome. The weather wasn't overly great, but we still had lots of fun. Madilyn especially loved swimming in the pool.

Nicole also got married to Bobby Peters on Saturday, it was a beautiful day!

So nothing new with the status of our baby, I still have lots of "Braxton Hicks" which annoy me like crazy. They still hurt a lot when they happen too, so it really makes me wonder how real labor will be this time...or if it will ever happen. This baby really likes to play tricks on us.

We have thought of a few names that we both have agreed on...not sure on them yet but here they are in no particular order.

1. Chloe
2. Eliza (Liza)
3. Lucy

These are all names from family history, so they have a little more substance to the name....if that makes any since at all. Thats all for now!!!

Canada!

Well we ended up coming back to Canada a little earlier than expected. I have been having a lot of contractions, and after my doctor's apt. we decided as a family that in order to follow the doctor's orders and rest that the only way that could be done is if we went home early. So Taylor talked with all his professors and was able to take his finals back here in Canada instead. So we packed up in 2 days and took our flight home. We were so nervous to fly with Madilyn after our flight out to Hawaii 8 months previously, but we had so many miracles and Madilyn was a champ. She had a few melt downs...but that was nothing like I expected it to be considering our flight was delayed and she was way down on sleep. But we finally arrived and are grateful to be here. Our baby is now 29 weeks along, so I am just trying to take it really easy for the next 2 months...we are definately going to have to depend a lot on family.

We are already missing Hawaii, and are so sad we didn't get a chance to say goodbye to all the friends we made and will never forget them! We are happy to be back with the Burnham's, and look forward to some exciting times!

An Adventureous Weekend

So this weekend our family decided to be spontaneous, so on Friday we went to the Dole Plantation and had a lovely time. On the way back we thought it would be fun to stop at a beach and play around for a bit. As I was shutting the car door I saw the keys still sitting on the front seat; I tried to stop the door, but too late. So $80.00 later we were able to get back into the car, for a service that literally took the guy 15 seconds. We deiced that Taylor or I should take up a career in opening locked doors for people...we could make a killing.

Saturday, we decided to be adventurous and we headed to Honolulu to have a sleepover at our friends Mike, Becca , and little Bentley Olsen, who is Madilyn's age. When we got there we had a grand time swimming at the Marriott hotel swimming pool, and after Taylor and Mike went night surfing in Waikiki while Becca and I hung out with the kids. We were having a wonderful time until Madilyn decided it would be a good idea to wake up 2 hours after she went down for the night. At 1 in the morning we finally decided to cut our losses and make the 1 hour drive home so we wouldn't keep our friends up, and risk waking up Bentley with our daughters screaming. Madilyn was wired all the way home and finally crashed at 2:30am...I have to admit I was pretty impressed with her ability to stay awake.

The point of this post is to show how it seems as though every time we try hard to get out and do fun things...this is what kind of things end up happening. Good thing I have a positive husband, otherwise I would probably never leave the house again. But the good thing is...it just adds to the adventures and makes more memories. Life would be too boring is it was simple and if everything went as planned. We really did have a fun weekend though, and that is what matters.

MILK!

So Taylor and I were talking the other day about how much milk our family goes through. So we thought it would be interesting to find out how much we spend a month on just milk alone. Our conclusion was this........$80.00 a month. How pathetic is that?? That is 4 gallons a week, Madilyn drinks 2 of those gallons herself a week....perhaps that is why she never eats real food. So I decided to try and give her more of a variety in her drinks, but it always seems to resort back to milk. And my excuse for drinking so much milk is because it helps with heartburn, for a few minutes at least. And Taylor just likes milk I guess! It doesn't help that milk is so dang expensive here in Hawaii, I can't even imagine what our milk bill would be with a bigger family. Anyway, thats our milk problem!

Last Month in Hawaii

We can't believe our time is almost up here....so crazy. We have definately enjoyed it here, and will miss it so much. But I think we are all pretty excited to see family, and have babysitters again...I think we have been on a total of 3 dates in 8 months.

Madilyn and I have just been up to our usual stuff, playing on the beach and at the park. Taylor is trying to finish out strong with school, and hoping to get in a few surf sessions before we head out.

Our little baby is growing, 27 1/2 weeks along now. This pregnancy has been going a lot faster than my last one, but it definately has taken a toll earlier. Braxton Hicks are killing me this time round, I can't believe it...I am just praying that my labor won't be more intense because of it.
