Laie Point

I should be packing...but I can't resist posting some beautiful pictures.

Pretty much the entire time we talked about how much we are going to miss this beautiful island. This place is a 15 min walk from our house....and its incredible, I don't know if we will ever be able to live somewhere again that we can walk 15 mins and see this kind of amazing beauty. I guess it will be a different kind of beauty. AHHH Hawaii, you will be missed, but we will be back!!!!

Shark attack!

So yesterday is seriously like the first time I have really pushed or encouraged Taylor to go surfing. I mean, I am always fine with him going, but he had lots of school work to do...but I told him that he would probably regret not surfing "more" before we fly out in two weeks. So anyway, Taylor and his friend went surfing at Turtle Bay, and it was not too good, so they decided to go try another spot called Beachpark aka where the famous Pipeline is. So they get to the beach and no one is out in the water...and they think, great! But what they failed to notice is the signs up on the beach. Shortly after they finish surfing they find out there has been a tiger shark attack about 5-10 mins away, and they posted shark sightings at all the north shore beaches to tell everyone to stay out of the water. So he was most definitely surfing during the attack at Turtle Bay, and then they got way closer by going to beach park and had no idea there was a shark swimming around!!! AHHH thats the LAST time I encourage him to go surfing. Thank goodness the guy that was attacked on his surfboard none the less, was only bit on the leg and then after punching the shark it swam away. But apparently they have had tiger shark sightings for the past week, and Taylor never even bothers to look at the posted signs of warning. Anyway, just grateful that nothing happened, and kinda glad he only has two more weeks to surf, and there is NO way I am letting him go for the rest of the week, not that he can anyway with all his school work he has to do!
